Code
of conduct for database contributors
INVOLVE wish to encourage
the broad and creative development of training for involvement
in research, both in terms of capacity, quality, relevance and
innovation. We have therefore opened the database to a wide range
of contributors. Once accepted onto the database, contributors
will have a password which they can use to update their entry
remotely. The database editor at INVOLVE will be automatically
notified when an update is made and will decide whether to approve it for publishing.
INVOLVE do have minimum expectations
as to the conduct of trainers, facilitators, consultants, and mentors
in the field who have been referred through our database. These
are that they:
- are professional in conduct
- are effective and supportive of their participants
personal and professional development
- are supportive of their own personal and professional
development
- are in line with equal opportunities and anti
discriminatory practice
- are supportive, respectful, empowering, and
inclusive in their approach to participants
- make constructive use of feedback from participants
at the end of an event or piece of work
- respect copyright and acknowledge material
used where this has been generated by INVOLVE or other identifiable
sources.
Contributors are expected to manage their updates responsibly and to ensure that:
- entries are regularly updated. (If you have not confirmed or edited your details within an 18 month period we will assume you no longer want your entry included.)
- the language used is respectful, accessible and clear
- entries are consistent with equal opportunities and anti discriminatory practice
- entries honestly reflect what can be provided now.
To support this INVOLVE
suggest that contributors to the database familiarise themselves
with the following publications as a minimum before making an entry.
These publications are available from this website and in hard copy from INVOLVE:
