Research priorities for older people who have multiple conditions in later life

Newcastle University is leading a collaboration bringing together organisations, individuals, carers and clinicians to identify the Top 10 research priorities for older people who have multiple conditions in later life. They are contributing to this initiative along with other partners, such as Age UK and NIHR.

This is an independent and transparent initiative using the James Lind Alliance method.  The consultation gives the whole community the opportunity to develop a list of the Top 10 research priorities that will help older people with multiple conditions to live well.  The goal is to increase funding in this area, incentivising researchers to respond to patient priorities.

If you have a connection to older people with multiple conditions in later life they would love to hear from you. The more responses they get, the more robust the outcome and top 10 priorities will be.  The survey is available here and takes around 5 minutes to complete.  It is open to anyone with a personal or professional connection to those who are aged 80+ with 3 or more conditions and, of course, older people themselves. Paper copies and freepost envelopes can also be ordered by emailing JLA@ncl.ac.uk calling 0191 208 1144.
