Criteria for inclusion
How we have chosen information to include in the Putting it into practice database
The library contains journal publications and grey literature (project reports, conference presentations, books and book chapters, theses, editorials in journals), but does not include comments, letters and opinion pieces.
Published examples of projects with public involvement have only been included if they draw out useful lessons, or provide sufficient detail for others to be able to develop a similar approach.
All the guidance included is broadly in line with widely-recognised principles of good practice.
While the main focus is on public involvement in NHS, public health and social care research, reports or guidance related to service user involvement in service development are included where the lessons can be generalised.
If you have a document or reference that you think should be included in the library, please tell us about it, using the submit a document form. Please note that all suggested references will be checked before they are placed in the library, to make sure they meet the criteria for inclusion.
