Title: Engaging service users in the evaluation and development of forensic mental health care services

Aims: To enable service users to research forensic mental health care, drawing particularly on their consideration of experiences of both secure provision and community care.

Research project description: Ten service users will identify research priorities, design and carry out a research project with the guidance of experienced mental health researchers. It is envisaged that a qualitative auto-biographical approach will be taken.

Description of public involvement in research stages: The priorities will be set after recruiting service users. The 10 service user researchers will be involved in all stages of research including presentations to City University health care students
