Public involvement in researchViBIS was established with the aim of developing a knowledge base for the involvement of patients and their relatives in their own course of treatment and in the development of the Danish health care system (organizational involvement in policymaking, quality development and research). ViBIS is working to gather, share and develop knowledge about methods for and experiences of user involvement from both Denmark and abroad, and to make this knowledge available to health professionals, managers and decision-makers in the Danish health care system. ViBIS participate in research projects on user involvement. We also lead training programs for patient representatives, and we have established a database where health professionals and researchers can recruit patients as informants for projects.
