Training, learning and development opportunities for involvement exist for public contributors, researchers and public involvement managers. Despite this, it remains an area in need of better support and coordination. This was highlighted in 2015, when both the Going the Extra Mile report and an NIHR-wide Learning & Development Working Group report were published.

In December 2016, INVOLVE established a Learning and Development Project Group to address better coordination, improved methods of identifying individuals’ learning and development needs, and to improve access to existing opportunities.

A new webpage on the INVOLVE site now collects the new resources developed by the Project Group, with links to existing materials. It has a quick guide to help you navigate this page and find the resources you are looking for.

In addition, a new website, learningforinvolvement.org.uk has been launched to help you find and share training courses and learning resources.

The Project Group will continue to meet through 2018, working collaboratively to improve training coordination and develop further learning and development resources.
