2012 Conference

Abstract:
This poster explores PPI in one particular study – IQuESTS, Improving Quality and Effectiveness of Services, Therapies and Self-management of longer term depression.

Involvement occurred from the outset, throughout the study at all stages and in all strands of the study. Some of these PPI initiatives are described, using the words and perspectives of those involved, showing how involvement grew in both quality and quantity throughout the lifetime of the study.

Several of the users and carers had never been involved in research previously; others were researchers who had not involved users or carers before. Therefore it is hoped that these experiences will provide ideas and impetus for others to carry out PPI.
