Public involvement in research
Promote research to both NHS staff and the general public. Publicise and facilitate Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in NIHR.
Promote research to the general public by means of a newsletter, articles in local magazines and on websites, displays and attendance at public events, through Clinical Commissioning Groups and Healthwatch.
Publicise PPI to NHS staff by means of presentations at staff events, at local speciality group meetings and as part of student and staff training courses.
Facilitate PPI in the NHS by offering help and advice to researchers on their studies. As appropriate arranging for patient input into research studies.
