Arthritis Research UK is the charity dedicated to stopping the devastating impact that arthritis has on people’s lives.

Our long-term commitment is prevention, developing a cure, and transforming the lives of those with arthritis.

We fund research into new treatments to end the pain of arthritis, and provide information on living well with arthritis.

Public involvement in research

We are beholden to people with arthritis and as such we put them at the centre of our charitable activities so that we do not lose sight of what is the most important thing for us as a charity – improving the lives of people with arthritis.

Patient insight partners are people who have experience of what it is like to live with an arthritic condition. They work alongside the research team and members of the research community to ensure that what we fund has genuine relevance and potential benefit to people with arthritis, in all its forms. Patient insight partners work with us on a number of crucial activities which include:

·        The review and evaluation of proposals (at meetings and/or at home)

·        Setting research priorities

·        Evaluating and disseminating research outcomes
