Healthwatch Portsmouth

Description

Healthwatch Portsmouth is a service for people accessing health and social care in the city, offering:

• Information about services to help you choose to make decisions about your care
• An opportunity for your views about the services yoiu have received, to be heard and acted upon
• Help and support when you are not satisfied with how your complaint about NHS funded services has been dealt with

Our Healthwatch orgainsation aims to put evidenced based research and engagement activity at the centre of what we are doing.  We work in partnership with the University of Portsmouth to make sure that we have a academic input into our research.  More information about the research we have done so far can be viewed in our development report at: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_5h0-othKJrNzdIT1QwQmVwT0U/edit?pli=1

Public involvement in research

We aim to make sure that the public are the planners of the research we are doing and have also conducted community research courses to train up local community  representatives to conduct their own research that we then support.
