Description
NIHR CLAHRC Oxford is a five-year programme funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and matched funds provided by local health and social services. It aims to create lasting and effective partnerships across health and social care organisations, universities to improve the services we can deliver for patient benefit.
Hosted by the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust our funding runs until 2019.

Our research themes are
1. early intervention and service redesign
2. health behaviours and behavioural interventions
3. patient experience and patient reported outcomes
4. better management of medical-psychiatric comorbidity
5. patient self-management of chronic disease
Public involvement in research
Our aim is to support adults and young people to make informed choices about lifestyle and healthcare through their involvement and engagement in our research.
We aim to match the research excellence of the Department with robust, creative and sustainable involvement and engagement of patients carers and the public throughout the research cycle.
We will do this by;
• providing training and development for researchers and lay people
• recording and monitoring involvement activities to demonstrate impact
• collaborating with partner organisations across research, service delivery and innovation
• facilitating two-way dialogue between researchers and the public through local events and activities
• using engagement activities to broaden research participation and involvement
