South London Diabetes Patient Involvement Group
Description
Our patient involvement group allows people with diabetes and their relatives to get involved in diabetes research in South London. We set up the group with a small grant from the Research Design Service and our now are supported by the South London Comprehensive Local Research Network and Diabetes Research Network for NE London.
Public involvement in research
Our group meets approximately three times per year and it is an opportunity for group members to hear first hand about diabetes research that is planned or in progress and to comment on it. It also provides a platform for group members to specify the type of research they would like to see happen locally. Group members also have access to research training.
