Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
Description
Southern Health provides community health, specialist mental health and learning disability services across the South. We aim to provide high quality, safe services which improve the health, wellbeing and independence of the people we serve. The Research and Development Department’s vision is to embed a culture within the Trust that enables every patient the opportunity to participate in research.
Public involvement in research
The Research and Development Department formed the Patient and Public Involvement in Research Initiative in 2013. It’s aim was to set up a PPI Research Network involving patients, service users, carers and members of the general public who are interested in research, in studies and projects. Through this Research Network research projects have been discussed and involvement and collaboration on projects has been encouraged. The PPI Co-ordinator for Southern Health’s Research and Development Department is Carolyn Asher.
