2012 Conference

Abstract: We will describe how the perception of PPI among NETSCC staff has developed since the inception of a project approach to involvement and the creation of a quality framework for PPI.

The ways in which the NETSCC has changed its staff’s perception of PPI as part of a quality standards approach.

NETSCC internal communications approaches and mechanisms in respect of PPI will be described.

We will use survey data, quotes from staff, photo records of activities and other documentary evidence to illustrate the PPI culture of NETSCC and how it has changed.

We will examine:

  • staff perception of and “buy-in” to PPI principles and practice
  • barriers to culture change and how these may be overcome
  • how the work on PPI relates to wider organisational development, including a knowledge, skills and behaviour framework.

We will provide an opportunity to discuss:

  • how to build PPI into an organisational culture
  • which inputs are more or less effective in changing culture.
