Abstract: This presentation will share the challenges and developments of embedding patient and public involvement in a local comprehensive research network. Work activities and case studies involving local people will be shared including innovative PPI activities for evaluation and capturing impact for PPI.

Key learning point from this presentation will include sharing ideas of PPI within clinical research and how PPI is a three way process between organisations, researchers and members of the public.

Discussion will focus on how PPI amongst various NHS trust differ, although some learning can be implemented across the NHS. In addition, research needs to be made user friendly and interesting for patients and members of the public to be involved, particularly around the use of language.
