2014 Conference

Abstract: This poster describes an ideas marketplace. The purpose is to share as many ideas as fast as possible with all participants. The room is set up with flipchart on the walls, titled with certain areas of patient and public involvement (PPI), for example media, raising awareness, committees, participant-led research, armchair involvement, internal governance.

Participants do not sit, they are given brief instructions on arrival to write as many of the PPI things they do on post-it notes as they can think of, and then stick them on the flipchart. If they are happy to be contacted about their PPI idea they also include an email address. Participants then look at other people’s work and ideas and decide which ones they would like to try out.

If someone decides to use an idea they write it on a post it and stick it on the resolutions board. The session is halted five minutes from the end and every person should declare an idea they will try before leaving.
