Abstract:

This paper reports on the findings from a review of seven case studies reported in the literature where members of the public were involved in a systematic review. It summarises the ways in which the public contributed to the process including:

  • refining the scope of the review
  • locating literature
  • appraising the literature
  • interpreting the findings
  • writing up the review.
