Title: Planning, Building and Living in the New Millennium - Accommodation Needs of Adults (18-64) with physical and /or sensory disabilities in the Southern Board's area

Aims: To examine the current range and suitability of residential /nursing accommodation accessed by this population and to review the accommodation needs of those living in the community.

Research project description: Interviews with people living in nursing and residential homes. Questionnaire survey of people with physical and/or sensory disabilities living in the community and carers of people living in the community.

Description of public involvement in research stages: Service users/carers committee in planning stages. Worked with and as part of the Implementation Group, which was established to oversee the implementation of the recommendations.
